Painter Nancy Tobin & her husband, Matthew Rothenberg, run a brick-&-mortar space in the heart of Grand Rapids — 46 Division Ave. Southeast.
The "Heartside" neighborhood features emerging creative spaces and small businesses alongside affordable housing.
ArtRat Gallery occupies a work space owned by Dwelling Place, a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating affordable communities and revitalizing neighborhoods in Western Michigan.
Grand Rapids native Nancy Tobin (a graduate of Kendall College of Art and Design) recently returned to the city after many years living and working in San Francisco and the New York area. She's exhibited in galleries and museums across the country, and her work has been acquired by numerous private and museum collections.
Matthew Rothenberg handles marketing and PR for ArtRat. He's a digital marketer who works with clients across the country to tell stories for audiences around the globe. Telling the ArtRat story combines his professional bona fides with his lifelong passion for the arts.
