ArtRat says goodbye to ArtPrize 2022 with great art, light snacks and live music.

Presented by Cuu JoSama and Kenneth Cortez Productions, The Hai-Cuu Experience is a recurring event that includes poetry, music, and performance and visual work from featured artists as well as the audience.

We provide a platform for people to express art transparently through performance and visual media. The Hai-Cuu Experience focuses on Black and brown experiences to uplift the voices of marginalized persons within our communities. We are bringing authentic stories to downtown Grand Rapids to showcase up-and-coming artists in West Michigan. The Hai-Cuu Experience looks to be a vehicle for creativity and networking as we continue to explore new possibilities inside ArtRat Gallery!

ArtPrize artist and multi-instrumentalist Gray Reynolds, dancer and musician Nic Gareiss and fiddler Ruby John present an hour of traditional music and dance, expanding on the performances featured in the “Grace Notes” project on display at ArtRat through October. Come enjoy a live and interactive version of the project showcasing the talents of the artists featured in “Grace Notes” in the beautiful downtown space of ArtRat Gallery!

Meet ArtPrize 2022 artist Dean Hunt, and explore the intersection of art and augmented reality! Twenty-five oil paintings will be on display, inspired by the greats with a modern twist. Enjoy refreshments while you use your smartphone and Dean’s WisckAR app to take the visual experience to another level.
